14 On Screen Couples Who Hate Each Other Off Screen!

Just because a couple is in love in a movie doesn’t mean they have the same feelings in real life. Let’s take a look at these actors who are so good at their job, they managed to hide all that pain and hostility of working together. We always knew not to believe anything in Hollywood and here is why:

Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey

Patrick
Our all time favorite movie, Dirty Dancing, portrayed a special love between two different kinds of people. But according to Swayze, Jennifer Grey was quite moody and emotional throughout the filming. Even Grey had some hard feelings for Patrick, saying she couldn’t stand Patrick Swayze while filming Red Dawn.

Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray

Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray made a popular pair on the One Tree Hill series that went on for way too long. This is another work relationship that really went bad on set. The awkwardness could be really felt when the two co-stars started loving each other, got engaged and just before the beginning of 3rd season, split up. Now you can guess what might have happened next? Murray who cheated on Bush, took a smart move, and left her alone. Now that is a fair situation.

Richard Gere and Debra Winger

Richard Gere has been known as “a brick wall” on movie sets, and Winger took all the credit for any romance they faked. It was a one sided hatred though. At the peak of her career, Winger was a tough actress to work with, and Richard felt it strong. They both argued continuously on the set while filming An Officer And A Gentleman.

C-3PO and R2-D2

Anthony Daniels (R2-D2) and Kenny Baker (C-3PO), the popular stars of The Star Wars Franchise, showed their hatred at one point when Kenny argued that when he greeted his co-star Anthony, he just replied to Kenny by saying that he was busy having a conversation. Kenny blamed Anthony for being so rude and causing such a fury for no reason.

Sharon Stone and William Baldwin

While filming Silver, Sharon Stone and William Baldwin did not get along. While you might think that Stone was the tough one, it was actually the other way around. These two should not play lovers under any circumstances!

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams

The Notebook stars, Gosling and McAdams, always fought like cats and dogs while shooting the most romantic movie of all time. But love is strange, and these co-stars became a real- life couple! We don’t know why but we guess they decided to do something with that sexual tension and give it a go.

Selma Blair and Charlie Sheen

While shooting their show, Anger Management, Charlie Sheen showed his aggression towards Selma Blair,  whom he referred to as “tiger blood” due to her “laziness and lateness at work.” And even though she played her part well, she was written off the show. Who would’ve thought that Charlie Sheen was the good guy in this feud?

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson

The chemistry between these two co-stars of the popular X-Files series revealed the truth about their dislike for each other. Gillian Anderson agreed spilled the beans and said that while they play lovey dovey on TV, they don’t even talk to each other in real life!

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson

50 Shades Of Grey or as we now call it, 50 Shades Of Hate is probably a movie you did not think involved any animosity, well, apart from what is being acted. Actually, besides hating each other personally, Dornan and Johnson stated that they hated everything about the job, from filming scenes to promoting the movie.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes

Romeo And Juliet is the most romantic story of all time. So who would have expected Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes to hate each other while acting those parts? Especially when they rose to popularity because of this fairy-tale. It has been said that they both avoided each other as much as possible during filming. It’s as if Romeo and Juliet had actually listened to their disapproving families.

Harrison Ford and Sean Young

Harrison Ford and Sean Young, who worked in the film Blade Runner, revealed their hatred for each other in an interview, as if it wasn’t obvious to us already. Ford intentionally hurt Young while shooting a sex scene, where he just tossed her around, clearly showing the bitterness they had between them. Even Katherine Haber, the production executive , stated that it wasn’t a love scene, but a hate scene they managed to shoot!

Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon

This on-screen couple did not actually  hate each other, but disagreed in their work ways. Vaughn is a more casual and easy-going actor, arriving late for shootings and joking around on set, while Witherspoon is known for her professionalism and punctuality. These two are not only polar opposites, but their heights are also far from balanced!

Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp

While shooting  The Tourist, Jolie and Depp managed to keep their hatred for each other under wraps, but news soon leaked that they were both irritated and upset with each other and did not get along while working. Jolie had issues with Depp, saying he did not fit the part as Frank, while Depp said Jolie’s personality is just annoying. I guess this proves that these are not just pretty faces, but great actors as well.

Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe

While working on the set of Some Like It Hot, Curtis had said that kissing the bombshell was like kissing Hitler, which showed a true hatred for one another. Why such resentment? Apparently the two co-stars had been fooling around while working together, proving that it is not a good idea to get involved with a job, even if it’s someone as irresistible as Miss. Monroe herself.
