Let’s face it – there’s hardly anything that compares to a good slice – or maybe 10? – of dessert. More often than not, however, a minute on the lips does mean a lifetime on the hips, which is mainly why you can’t live off chocolate cake for the rest of your life. But if you do want to indulge the healthy way, you should try vegan desserts. They’re absolutely delicious, not to mention extremely easy to prepare and a lot healthier than regular ones.
If you don’t know much on the topic, keep calm. I’ve made up a list of 10 scrumptious dessert recipes that you’re bound to fall in love with.
A bunch of exquisite apple roses
These babies right here are so damn tasty – not to mention pretty looking – and you only need three ingredients to prepare a full tray. All you’re gonna need is an apple, a teaspoon of vegan sugar and another one of cinnamon. Chocolate avocado truffles. Because you’re worth it
You know, truffles are that kind of dessert that everybody enjoys eating. They do make you feel fancy AF, but the thing is, the original version is definitely not the most thigh-friendly food in the world. For a completely guilt-free dessert, try mixing the flesh of a medium-sized avocado with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and 10 oz of (dark) chocolate chips. Got a sweet tooth? Three words: peanut butter cups
Oh my God, don’t tell me you didn’t love Reese butter cups when you were a kid! They’ve always been a guilty pleasure for me, but eventually, I’ve come to the conclusion that they’re not nearly as healthy as my former young self used to think. But hey, these vegan peanut butter cups are not only better tasting, but also lower in fats and a lot easier to prepare. You only need three ingredients to make ’em: 3/4 cups of organic peanut butter, about 200 grams of dark chocolate (ideally, you should choose one with 72% cocoa). Vanilla ice cream. It’s a masterpiece
There was no way I was writing this article without giving you a recipe for a vegan, home-made ice cream that actually tastes good. You can make this ice cream with 2 cans of full fat coconut milk, a table spoon of vanilla flavoring (or half a teaspoon of vanilla powder) and a four tablespoons of maple syrup. This banana cream pie will give you everything that you expect from a dessert and more. It’s creamy, cool and overall the perfect choice for those hot summer days when all you want to do is lie around with a mojito in one hand and a slice of something delicious in the other. This is one of Minimalist Baker’s recipes (you can find it right here), so it kinda goes without saying that preparing it won’t be a problem at all.
Vegan waffles – delicious and tasty
Just look at this photo! Don’t these pancakes look absolutely marvelous? I’m fully aware they don’t seem vegan, but that’s always a good sign. Besides, they don’t taste vegan either, and if you don’t think that’s awesome, then I’m seriously judging you right now. Surprising as it may seem though, this pie is not only vegan, but also bake-free. And you know what this means? Less effort and more deliciousness. You’ll only need a few basic ingredients for this. I’m talking about cocoa butter, cocoa powder, coconut milk, maple syrup and a bit of dark chocolate.
